Elie Bernheim, CEO Raymond Weil SA
Born in Geneva in 1980, Elie is a graduate of the prestigious Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL). Grandson of Raymond Weil, the eponymous founder of the brand, Elie was rapidly integrated into the family company in 2006. Appointed CEO in April 2014, he succeeded his father Olivier Bernheim, Raymond Weil’s son-in-law, and remains Chairman of the Board of Directors. Raymond Weil SA currently produces more than 100,000 watches a year.
“My path crossed Asta’s in 2013 when I was looking for a PR specialist who could, at a moment’s notice, take over the international press relations for Raymond Weil at our industry’s annual flagship event, the World Watch and Jewellery Show, Baselworld.
She was a natural fit and we immediately agreed on a press management strategy at the aforementioned event. On this occasion, Asta collaborated with the existing internal PR teams in bringing the project to a successful conclusion, while respecting and encouraging the individual contribution of each team member.
We were very satisfied with this initial contact and renewed our contractual relationship with Asta for the next two years. The year 2014 marked a turning point in the life of our company, but above all in the history of our family, as my grandfather, Raymond Weil, had just passed away so we had to manage both the emotional and operational aspects linked to this enormous loss for the family.
Asta’s exemplary contribution during this period of turmoil was highly effective as well as discreet. We are immensely appreciative of the fact that not only did she assist us with all aspects of crisis communication, she also initially handled the aspects related to the transmission of information to the press in a remarkable manner, as well as making herself available to the family in general.
When I took up my position as CEO of Raymond Weil in 2014, Asta’s excellent appreciation of the strategic challenges and her international network enabled the company to convey a clear and impactful message to the international press.”

Carlo Lamprecht
Born in Lugano on October 26th 1935, Carlo Lamprecht moved to Geneva in 1951. He pursued an apprenticeship in the industrial sector, and from 1963, in parallel with his job as an industrial draughtsman, took evening courses in engineering. He graduated in 1968, and was soon recruited at CERN, where he had a 15-year career. In 1987, he was elected Administrative Councillor and Mayor of the town of Onex, a position he held for the next ten years.
Elected State Councillor of the Republic and Canton of Geneva in 1997, he became its President in 2000 and 2001. In charge of the Department of Economy, Employment and External Affairs, during his term of office he chaired the Board of Directors of Geneva International Airport, Palexpo and the Franco-Geneva Regional Committee.
Having served two consecutive political terms, he resigned from his political functions at the end of 2005. In 2011, Carlo Lamprecht was appointed President of the Foundation of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG), which he also agreed to create. He remained committed to the GPHG and to the presidency of the eponymous Foundation until December 2017, when he decided to retire in order to spend more time with his family and on his future projects.
Carlo Lamprecht is married, with a son and two grandchildren, and remains extremely involved in economic circles in the Canton of Geneva as well as in various foundations.
Profile and professional relationship
As President of the Foundation of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève since 2011, Carlo Lamprecht is familiar with the media and a great supporter of the international press. In 2014, he recruited Asta Ponzo, a communication specialist, to the GPHG team. Asta has done a stellar job to which she has contributed not only her international network and excellent knowledge of the watch industry, as well as the broader world of luxury, but also her personal qualities and a great deal of humility.
Whether it was about holding a press conference in Geneva, or elsewhere in the world; organizing interviews with the international press or by an increased presence on social networks, she contributed, in conjunction with the management of the GPHG, to the success and promotion of the latter.
The GPHG was regularly quoted in written and digital publications such as Bloomberg, Forbes, Robb Report, Financial Times, New York Times, Sole 24 Ore, La Repubblica and CNN.
An event such as the GPHG requires very particular expertise and targeted skills as well as the ability to conduct oneself appropriately in all situations.
